Today law enforcement officers again arrived at the Memorial human rights organization to conduct an inspection, Gazeta.ru reports, citing the Interfax news agency.

"Yesterday they were inspecting the International Memorial Society, today they have come to check up on the Moscow Memorial Society. Next week they promised to come and inspect the Memorial Human Rights Centre,” said the head of the International Memorial Society, Arseny Roginsky.

Roginsky said that, as yesterday, today the team of inspectors consisted of officials from the prosecutor’s office, from the Ministry of Justice, and from the tax authorities.

"An atmosphere is being created that paralyzes the day-to-day functioning of our organization. This is intimidation of society by the state. This is the first time we are seeing such unprecedented comprehensive inspections of civil society organizations, when all the different agencies come at once. Nothing like this has ever happened before. If in the course of such a total inspection any violations are found, they will be used in an attempt to discredit the organization,” Roginsky said.
