New Council on Constitutional Rights Created under Aegis of Presidential Administration

Head of the presidential administration Sergei Ivanov has signed a decree to establish an expert council under the aegis of the presidential administration designed to ensure the constitutional rights of citizens.

The Council of Experts has been set up to ensure effective and constructive communication between representatives of the expert community, business circles, academic bodies and civil society organizations, the Rosbalt news agency reports, citing the Kremlin press service.

Members of the council will also examine in detail any proposals received by the head of state designed to improve government policy or legislation in fields such as migration, Russian citizenship, political asylum, and any other matters within the jurisdiction of the presidential administration concerning the constitutional rights of citizens.
