OVD-Info – the project to help those detained by the police – reports that 234 people were detained in Moscow outside the building of the Zamoskvoretsky court.

Dozhd TV reports that detainees were taken to Moscow district police stations (Presnensky, Tagansky, Krasnoselsky, Akademichesky, Basmanny, Meshchansk, Khamovniki, Zamoskvorech’e, Yakimanka and Ziuzino).

OVD-Info reports that there were 11 police buses with people who were arrested outside the courtroom. At Yakimanka police station all those detained were charged under Article 19.3 (upto 15 days in prison) and are being taken to the court.

Apart form Dukhanina (who was given a suspended sentence of 3 years 3 months), all the political prisoners in the Bolotnaya trial were sentenced by Judge NIKISHINA on 24 February 2014 to terms in prison. Outside the courthouse, the police, riot police and ‘people in civvies’ carried out numerous detentions of people who had come to support the political prisoners.
