Political trial concludes with sentencing of Bolotnaya prisoners

Apart from Aleksandra Dukhanina (given a suspended sentence of 3 years 3 months), all the political prisoners in the Bolotnaya trial were sentenced by Judge NIKISHINA to terms in prison. Outside the courthouse police, riot police and ‘people in civvies’ detained many of those who had come to support the political prisoners.


Artem Savelov — 2 years 7 months in a general regime penal colony. His term will be counted from 11 June 2012

Aleksei Polikhovich - 3 years 6 months in a general regime penal colony. His term will be counted from 26 July 2012.

Denis Lutskevich — 3 years 6 months in a general regime penal colony. His term will be counted from 9 June 2012.

Sergei Krivov — 4 years in a general regime penal colony. His term will be counted from 18 October 2012.

Aleksandra Naumova (Dukhanina) — 3 years 3 months, suspended. The probationary period has been set at 3 years.

Stepan Zimin — 3 years 6 months in a general regime penal colony. His term will be counted from 8 June 2012.

Yaroslav Belousov — a total of 2 years 6 months in a general regime penal colony. His term will be counted from 9 June 2012.

Dmitry Peskov, press secretary to President Putin, stated that he considers a pardon for the Bolotnaya defendants possible, Dozhd TV channel reported.
