Activist from movement For Fair Elections killed in Samara

The body of the 20-year-old Nikita Kalin, a regular participant in the rallies For Fair Elections, was literally stabbed through and through with six deep knife wounds, his mother said. She did not rule out that her son could have been killed for his civic activity. 

‘A street cleaner found the body of the young man on 9 February,’ Petr Krasnov, an activist with St. Petersburg Memorial, told human rights defenders. ‘His mother was shown the body with numerous knife wounds, broken ribs and head injuries. At the present time a suspect in the murder has been detained on whose clothes blood was discovered.' [Read more]
