Suspect Detained in Killing of Samara Antifascist Activist

A suspect has been detained in Samara for the murder of local anarchist and antifascist Nikita Kalin The 22-year old detainee is refusing to name his accomplices. He is also denying murder. 

20-year old Kalin had recently been actively involved in political life and had taken part in a number of local protest actions. 

He was killed on his way to work on the morning of 9 February. The attack took place in front of the Samara branch of the Russian Academy of Science’s Physics Institute building on Novo-Sadovaya street. His body was discovered with multiple injuries at 6.30am by a street sweeper who called the police. [Read more]
