Court Cuts Platon Lebedev’s Sentence

The Velsk district court in Arkhangelsk region has reduced the sentence of ex-head of Menatep, Platon Lebedev, by three years, reports, citing RIA Novosti. This means that Lebedev could walk free in July 2013. The court examined petitions from Lebedev’s defence counsel and from the Public Prosecutor’s office. Judge Nikolai Raspopov announced his decision: "The lawyers’ petition is to be partially satisfied. Lebedev’s final sentence is to be ten years imprisonment in a general regime colony.” [Read more]
