Elections to the Russian State Duma took place on 4 December. Thorough work by election observers enabled widespread falsifications to be identified during the voting and the count. The public understood that deception and manipulations could be resisted. Mass protests against the shameless electoral fraud, such as Russia has not seen for many years, followed. 

Those of the ruling party who pretend to be following in the steps of Stolypin say they want to save Russia from great shocks. But twisting the results of public elections is a direct path to civil chaos. [Read more]
