Minister of Internal Affairs Rashid Nurgaliev has promised to open throughout the country centres dedicated to the identification of extremism in electronic media. Moreover, these centres will also conduct expertise of printed, audio and video materials. 

According to the minister a decision to this effect has been taken by an inter-departmental commission. Now the presidential representatives in the federal districts are working on putting the project into practice, writes Lenta.ru citing Interfax. 

At present specialized centres are functioning on the base of the St. Petersburg State University and the government’s Centre for Information and Analytical Technologies in Moscow. A similar centre is soon to be opened at the Southern Federal University. [Read more]
