The human rights organisation Zona Prava (Law Zone) is setting up a federal hotline in connection with an amnesty announced by Russia's State Duma in the run up to the 70th anniversary of Victory.

Lawyers working for Zona Prava are offering free advice to convicted prisoners and their relatives on all issues connected with the amnesty: who is eligible, what documents should be prepared and where to submit them etc.

"We have already received inquiries from the public about the amnesty. They have been talked through the details of how they should proceed"," said Zona Prava lawyer Sergei Petryakov.

Zona Prava telephone hotline: 8-800 333-15-40

Calls are being taken on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00 and from 21:00 to 00:00 (Moscow time).
