Maria Alekhina, sentenced to two years in prison for her part in a performance by the Pussy Riot music group, has called on the head of Penal Colony No. 28 not to transfer her to another penal colony, Izvestiya reported on 3 April, citing Alekhina’s lawyer Irina Khrunova. "Maria is against being moved to another colony. My client does not want to go through the process of being moved from one place to another again. Moreover, she has already established relations with the head of the colony and with the other prisoners,” her lawyer explained. [Read more]
