Journalist Sergei Sokolov Left Russia Following a Conversation with Bastrykin

The editor of the investigations department of Novaya Gazeta, Sergei Sokolov, is currently outside Russia for his own safety following a dispute with the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Aleksandr Bastrykin, a spokesperson for Novaya gazeta told Gazeta.ru. "We must be sure that Sergei is safe, therefore he is currently out of the country. But we really hope that what has happened will be settled so that he can return to Russia, since for a Russian happiness is to live and work in the Motherland," Dmitry Muratov, chief editor of Novaya Gazeta, told Interfax.
