On Monday the creation of a Voters’ League was announced. Founders of the new non-governmental organization are 16 individuals who include Leonid Parfenov, Yury Shevchuk, Boris Akunin, Tatyana Lazareva, Rustem Adagamov, Ilya Varlamov, Sergei Parkhomenko, and Petr Shkumatov.

Tatyana Lazareva was the first to announce the foundation of the League in her blog. “We have to start doing something,” she wrote. “I am not a politician and I never shall be, but if I see that my country is in decline, then I will fight against it. And I call on all those who, like me, identify themselves with their country to do the same.”
